Outside of town, discover awe-inspiring Fundy Bay, storybook fishing villages and the home of Lucy Maud Montgomery, author of Anne of the Green Gables.

The Micmac Indians, called the area ‘Chebuctook’, meaning Great Long Harbor and the city’s ideal location on one of the largest natural harbors in the world made it a strategic asset for convoys in both world wars. Its surrounding district, the West End, is full of Victorian-era homes, including the Victoria Mansion museum.
