Day 1-10

Cruise from Istanbul to Athens (Piraeus), Greece

  1. Day 1Cruise departs from IstanbulSep 24, 2028 • Arrives at: 7 am • Departs at: 4 pm

Bridging both Europe and Asia Minor, Istanbul is literally where “East meets West.” The city was founded by Constantine the Great and the history of this capital dates back sixteen centuries to the powerful Byzantine and Ottoman Empires. Many of our voyages include overnight stays in this legendary city, allowing more time to explore Istanbul’s highlights. Shop among the winding byways of the Grand Bazaar and the exotic stalls of the Spice Bazaar. Tour the magnificent courtyards of Topkapi Palace, stroll among the treasures of the Blue Mosque with its unique six minarets, then view Dolmabahce Palace, the one-time residence of the sultans. Or you may cruise along the Bosphorus for a unique perspective of the city’s numerous seaside mansions, mosques and palaces.

  2. Day 2CanakkaleSep 25, 2028 • Arrives at: 7 am • Departs at: 4 pm
  3. Day 3IzmirSep 26, 2028 • Arrives at: 7 am • Departs at: 6 pm

Soak up the scenery in Turkey's third largest city, Izmir. Meander along the relaxing Kordonboyu oceanfront promenade. Enjoy fresh, perfectly grilled sea bass as you look out over the beautiful harbor. Try one of Izmir’s delicious shish kebabs or a traditional kumru sandwich as you head off to explore its beautiful beaches. Visit the historic Kemeralti Market or the Kizlaragasi Bazaar, which happens to be one of the oldest bazaars in the city, dating from the 18th century Ottoman period.

  4. Day 4BodrumSep 27, 2028 • Arrives at: 9 am • Departs at: 6 pm

Located in the southwestern corner of Anatolia, Bodrum is a seacoast town in which sleek yachts are anchored in twin bays beneath the walls of a medieval Crusaders’ castle. The town owes its fame to a man long dead (Mausolus) and his famous “Mausoleum,” one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Bodrum’s other claim to fame comes from Herodotus, the “Father of History,” and the first person to write a comprehensive world history of the West.

  5. Day 5MarmarisSep 28, 2028 • Arrives at: 8 am • Departs at: 5 pm

Marmaris is a Mediterranean resort town along the Turkish Riviera (also known as the Turquoise Coast) with a busy, pebbly beach and long seafront promenade. It’s known for its lively nightlife on Bar Street, which is home to open-air clubs and music venues. Marmaris sits in a valley between pine-forested mountains and clear waters, which are popular sailing and diving destinations. ― Google

  7. Day 7RhodesSep 30, 2028 • Arrives at: 7 am • Departs at: 4 pm

Renowned as the site of the former Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, Rhodes was home to the Knights of St. John from the 12th to 16th centuries. Their famous Palace of the Grand Masters remains a “must-see,” as are many of the inns occupied by the Crusaders and the replica of the old church. For a more in-depth look at the city, visitors can take in the Archeological where the Acropolis of Rhodes and the ancient stadium offer perfect photo opportunities.

  8. Day 8IraklionOct 1, 2028 • Arrives at: 7 am • Departs at: 5 pm

Heraklion, also known as Iraklio, is a port city and the capital of the Greek island of Crete. It’s known for the Palace of Knossos, just outside the city. The huge archaeological site dates back thousands of years to the Minoan civilization, and includes frescoes and baths. Guarding the city’s Venetian port is the 16th-century Koules fortress. Heraklion Archaeological Museum has a large collection of Minoan art.

  9. Day 9MilosOct 2, 2028 • Arrives at: 7 am • Departs at: 5 pm
  10. Day 10Cruise returns to Athens (Piraeus), GreeceOct 3, 2028 • Arrives at: 5:30 am

Piraeus is the gateway to the ancient city of Athens, known as the “Cradle of Western Civilization” because of its immense impact on cultural and political achievements throughout the world. Due mainly to tourism and the 2004 Olympics, Greece has redeveloped many sites in Athens. A historian’s delight, Athens is home to such magnificent wonders as: the Acropolis, the Parthenon, the atmospheric winding streets of the Plaka, Temple of Olympian Zeus and Temple of Athena Nike, and the Archaeological Museum with the world’s finest collection of ancient artifacts. Shore excursions on the first and last day of a cruise are only available for guests who are combining back-to-back voyages to create a longer cruise. Those guests may organize custom tours through the Destination Services Desk on board
